The lawyer and blogger Rudy Othman was among the new detainees. He was arrested on Hamra Street in Damascus on 15 March for the third time since the start of the protests. The blogger and activist Jamal Al-Omar was arrested at the Lebanese border the same day as he returned from Beirut. The blogger Muhammed Abu Hajar was arrested in the Mediterranean-coast city of Tartus on 14 March because of what he has been writing in his blog “Mazaj.”Ahmad Salal, a journalist who was arrested on 12 February, was meanwhile released yesterday.As already reported, the 12 young people who were arrested on the evening of 7 March in the restaurant Niniar, in the Damascus neighbourhood of Bab Sharqi, included Yara Michel Shammas, 20, an information technology specialist who is the daughter of Michel Shammas, a human rights lawyer active on Facebook, Jehad Jamal, a blogger known by the name of ‘Milan’, who had been released on 29 December after two and a half months in detention, and Etab Labbad, a 20-year-old journalism student who has worked with various newspapers and websites such as Kassioun and Baladna.The authorities are still holding eight of the 16 people who were arrested during a 16 February raid on the Syrian Centre for Media and Freedom of Expression. They are Mazen Darwish (the head of the centre), Hussein Gharer, Hani Zetani, Joan Farso, Bassam Al-Ahmad, Mansour Al-Omari, Abdelrahman Hamada and Ayham Ghazzoul. Reporters Without Borders reiterates its call for their release. The latest member of the original 16 to be freed was Shady Yazbek, on 12 March.There is still no news of two Turkish journalists – Adem Özköse, a reporter for the magazine Gerçek Hayat and the daily Milat, and cameraman Hamit Coşkun – who were abducted by Shabiha militiamen near the northwestern city of Idlib on 10 March and then handed over to members of the Syrian intelligence services. So, it was a record breaking/grand settlement, giving huge relief to litigant public. ​Highlights of Mega Lok-Adalat were: #963 benches sat on March 27 and a total of Rs. 1,033,53,65,965 crore was paid as compensation to the parties while Rs. 18,19,89,648 crore was recovered as fine and penalty. # Mysuru district: 29 couples who had filed divorce petition restitution of conjugal rights got their cases compromised before the Lok-Adalat and all of them have re-united. Amongst 29 couples, there was one aged couple where the husband was aged 67 years and wife was aged 55 years. A 24 years old execution case bearing number 473/97 was compromised for Rs. 5,00,000. #In Gadag district: One MVC death case (MVC No. 20/19) ended in compromise and Bajaj Insurance Company, Hubli paid compensation of Rs. 58,00,000. #In Bangalore Urban District: In Small Causes Court, Bengaluru a case filed by M/s Kirloskar System Pvt. Ltd. Vs. Embassy Property Developers Ltd., for the offence under Sec 138 NI Act in PCR No. 1904/21 compromised at the 21,10,05,035. #The Lok-Adalat dealt with cases regarding MACT, matters related to financial institutions, criminal compoundable cases including Negotiable Instrument Act cases, civil suits and family court matters (except divorce), physically or through video-conferencing. He was the tournament’s highest wicket-taker with 16 in ten games and he had an economy of eight per over.KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERSRussell has been part of the KKR team since 2014 but became a key part of their first-choice XI over the last two years. In 2015, Russell scored 326 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 193 for KKR and was their highest wicket-taker with 14 and had an economy of eight per over.
