first_imgSubmitted to Sumner Newscow — Today’s Wellington High School bulletin for Friday, April 10, 2015:Friday• Track at WSU 8 p.m.Monday• JV Tennis at Chaparral 9 p.m.• Forensics Tournament at WHSLunch menu:Friday — Chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green bean, orange wedges, #hot roll/jelly.Monday — Chicken Fry Zs, mashed potatoes/gravy, fresh broccoli, peaches, hot roll/jelly.Today’s news* Congratulations to the Forensics team for an extremely successful night at yesterday’s tournament. In improvised duet acting, Jozie Caudillo and Alyssa Jackson took first place overall qualifiying for state with perfect scores in nearly every round. Julian Cornejo placed first with Baylee Pachelli in duet acting qualifying for state. Tori Winger took 4th place in humorous solo acting. Kellie Kemper took 3rd in oral oration and also took 3rd with Ashlyn Arebalo in duet acting. Ashlyn placed 4th in serious solo acting. Jozie Caudillo took first place in every event she took to the tournament qualifying for state in IDA, Prose and oral oration. Last but not least, Baylee Pachelli placed 2nd place in serious solo acting qualifying for state. Congratulations!*Help the Library create the ultimate young adult reading list by scanning the QR Codes on the flyers around the school. Starting Monday April 13th there will be a food drive- class against class. The winning class will be served Ice Cream on service day. The deadline will be on Friday, April 17th. Freshman take your cans to room 412- Mrs. Carroll. Sophomores to Room 105- Mrs. Bristow. Juniors to room 110- Ms. Hollas and Seniors to Room 208- Defore.*Service Day is on April 22nd and location sign-up is coming up quick. You can sign-up at lunch during your time:Seniors – April 13th- 17th.Juniors- April 14th-17thSophomores- April 15th-17thFreshman- April 16th-17thThe quicker you sign up the more likely you’ll get to volunteer where you want. Service Day is a mandatory all day event for everyone, including seniors. Afternoon activities will need to be signed up for as well. One activity will include the career fair.*Attention Wellington High School: Nominations for the Mr. Crusader pageant are being accepted during lunch this week. Nominee’s must be a Senior Boy. The pageant will be held the evening of April 17th.*Josten’s will be here on Thursday, April 23  during the lunches to distribute sophomore class rings.*Juniors and Seniors: A few Prom Announcements–You can sign up for the dodge ball and obstacle course for after prom in the office.-If you would be interested in performing for your classmates at prom, please pick up an entertainment application from Ms. Ford or stop by the office.-Tickets will go on sale by the student entrance before and after school starting Monday, April 13th. They are $30.00.– You can sign-up out of town dates in the office.-If you are planning on attending After Prom, you must read and sign a student pledge sheet. You may pick up the forms in the office.-Please see Ms. Ford if you have any questions or concerns.*Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is offering a $500 scholarship to a 2015 graduating senior who is pursuing a degree in education. The application form is in the counselor’s office.*Senior Parents: If you are interested in purchasing a senior ad in the yearbook, contact Ms. Ford at [email protected]*Seniors: You can turn in pictures for the Graduation video until May 1st. We will not accept any pictures after May 1st unless previous arrangements are made.*SENIORS: Please remember to apply for the $1,000 Kansas All Star Scholarship.
