Nokia 9 PureView launch could be close, gets Bluetooth certified

first_img2018 has gone by seeing around a dozen Nokia smartphones, but not one of them has the name Nokia 9 PureView to it. This was initially rumoured as the 2018 Nokia flagship smartphone, but the company reportedly had to delay the launch to 2019 due to technical issues with the penta-camera system. It seems we are now getting closer to it unveiling as three versions of the Nokia 9 PureView have just been certified by the Bluetooth SIG.The Bluetooth certification is a required step before the launch of a smartphone. The Nokia 9 PureView has been spotted by 91mobiles with model numbers TA-1082, TA-1087, and TA-1094 repeatedly at multiple certification bodies including 3C, MIIT and now Bluetooth SIG. This is a pretty good indication that the flagship is nearing its launch, the only question is when HMD plans to do it.Reports in the past say HMD will debut it either at CES in January or MWC in February. MWC 2019 sounds like a more fitting option as the company chose this platform earlier this year to unveil the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco and more. But if HMD wants to be one of the early few to unveil a Snapdragon 855-powered phone, then it may just make an announcement at CES in January. The Nokia 9 is still on course to be the first smartphone to sport a penta-lens camera system. Renders and purported leaked live images have shown us a phone with a pistol revolver-shaped camera system on the rear panel with seven cutouts that is said to house a total of five sensors, LED flash and a proximity detection sensor. We still have no information about the exact types of sensors being used.advertisementAs per past reports, the Nokia 9 PureView will not come with a notch like the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 8.1. It is rumoured to sport a 5.9-inch display with a QHD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio, which sounds a little outdated in 2019 now that almost every manufacturer (including HMD) has adopted notched displays and higher aspect ratios. The Nokia 9 PureView is also expected to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and an all-glass design. Other rumoured specs include up to 8GB of RAM, up to 128GB of internal storage and a 4,150mAh battery.ALSO READ | Nokia 9 launch reportedly delayed to 2019 due to camera issuesALSO READ | New Nokia 9 renders once again show off penta-camera setup, 18:9 displayALSO READ | Nokia 8.1 review: Premium and Pie-poweredlast_img
