UP NEXT: LU hosts the Cardinal Challenge, a four-team match-play event set for April 9 at the Beaumont Country Club. That’s the last event before the Southland Conference Championship, set for April 16-18 in Montgomery, Texas. “Today was a fun matchup between us and HBU,” LU coach Jessica Steward said. “It came down to the wire. The girls worked very hard to shoot what they did. The wind was tough, which made it difficult to hit close to the pins. We thought the pin positions would be the toughest challenge, but it was actually the wind.” The two teams entered Tuesday’s final round tied for the lead, and both shot a 307 for the final round. “To have three players in the top 10 and everybody in the top 25 is a good, solid team performance,” Steward said. “To tie HBU on a course that they are familiar with is a good accomplishment. We’re excited about our finish, and hopefully the team gains some confidence as we approach the end of our semester.”last_img
